It was going to be the second semester of my senior year at NAU, and I was about to head back up to Flagstaff after spending the first 4 months of the school year in Phoenix for an internship. My friends had all found their apartments back in August, and were planning on staying through May. But I had no where to live. So where does one go if you’re in location limbo?? CRAIGSLIST. The creepy, shady, you-better-learn-martial-arts-before-you-meet-this-person website that allows you to find… well pretty much anything. Including roommates. I’m sure you’re probably scanning your brain for all of those horrible Craigslist roommate horror stories that either you or your friend have experienced, and you’re probably drooling to hear another one. Because lets face it, they make great stories! But I’m sorry to say this isn’t going to be one of those. Because the truth is, I found the BEST. ROOMMATE. EVER. And her name is Tara. :)
She and I hit it off faster than a girl can scarf down freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (and by ‘girl’ I mean me). We bonded over shows like Say Yes to the Dress, and Four Weddings, and went crazy over crafts from CraftGawker (from those pre-Pinterest days. We didn’t know what was coming.), and we cried when the day came to move out, after 4 short months together.
Fast forward a few years, and you’ll find that the only thing that has changed, is the distance between our hometowns and that we were both using our acquired knowledge from all of those wedding shows to plan our very own! The best part? Doug and I get to capture their wedding day. Right there, in the action, shooting it all! We couldn’t be happier for this amazing couple, and how perfect they are together. Their love is evident, as you can see in their engagement photos. So keep an eye out for sneak peaks of their Hassayampa Inn Wedding on April 25th! It’s going to be a day filled with love for sure…
