There’s an old photograph of Paige & Jake sitting down next to each other. Paige is dressed in a yellow top with faint blue flowers, and Jake, a grey sweatshirt. They are sitting on two small black plastic chairs and smiling for the photo being taken. A sign sits near their feet with little white letters spelling out a teacher’s name followed by the phrase “Fifth Grade Class”. They’ve known each other since first or second grade, but here in this photo, they are boyfriend and girlfriend.
Who would have known that well over a decade later they would find each other again. But this time around… an engagement ring would be involved. And Jake would kneel down at home plate, on the elementary school baseball field where they first became “Paige & Jake”, to ask her to be his forever.
Fast forward a couple years to their intimate bohemian Coronado Island wedding day… May 12th, 2017, was intimate and fully spent with joy. Coronado Island is a significant place to the Randolph family. The Glorietta Bay Inn is the very place her grandparents stayed many years ago for a conference, and fell in love with the island’s charm. It became somewhere they traveled to almost every year if they could, making life-long memories while their family grew and grew. It was the perfect, meaningful setting for Paige’s wedding day, and even more significant when she donned her Grandparents rings on her right hand.
As they prepared to see each other for the first time, the butterflies and the excitement enveloped each of them. When Jake was set and ready to see his bride, Paige’s emotions took over as she realized the magnitude of this moment. She was overjoyed to see her future husband on their own sacred day. She couldn’t wait any longer. And on the rooftop overlooking the island he turned to see his bride dressed in her stunning ivory lacey bohemian BHLDN dress. They shared a sweet tearful embrace followed by genuine and loving compliments to one another as the Coronado Bridge gleamed behind them.
The day flowed effortlessly from there after they made their way to the Hotel Del Coronado Beach. Paige clutched her father’s arm while they walked barefoot to the shoreline, greeted with the grins and light-hearted tears of their friends and family. You could feel the passionate connection between Jake & Paige as they stared into the other’s eyes, as if they were the only two people on this beach, accompanied by the calls of the seagulls and sand pipers.
After proclaiming their I Do’s, they sealed their vows with a kiss and walked hand in hand back down the aisle. But before making their way to the reception, they wrapped up in each other’s arms and ending the ceremony with their first dance as husband and wife on the white sandy beach of the Hotel Del Coronado.
A place that will forever belong to them.
